The show has been named after him. “The Drew Carey Show” is joint creation of him and Bruce Helford, writer of “Roseanne”. Both have used their writing experience efficiently and that helped the series in the long run.
Drew Carey is an everlasting nice guy along with being a white collar layman. He is working in Winfred-Lauder, a multinational department store in human resources department. He is also the founder and co-owner of Buzz Beer, a special coffee containing brew. The show revolves around, whatever comes in his way. Whether it’s about his friends, his colleagues, his relationships or people he meets. He’s a loser but still lovable and in fact he is most successful among his group of friends. The only person, he can never befriend is Mimi Bobeck. She starts irritating and blaming him from the very first episode of the show. Through out the series Drew carries on playing pranks on her and looking for excuses to taunt her. Lewis, Oswald and Kate are his long time friends and he always remains ready to help them.

Life and Career- I am not sure but I’ve heard, it’s in his autobiography that he has six toes in his right foot. If you get an opportunity then check it out at your own. I just know that his glasses are his trademark. Do you know? Carey has had a refractive surgery to correct his vision and the glasses he wears in public are just a prop, so that people can recognize him. Although he doesn’t need them now, but these have been remained a necessity for him for several years.
Currently he’s residing in Los Angeles and New York City. In October 2007, he found his true love Nicole Jaracz and is now engaged to her. Both are very excited over their marriage and future plans. This is first marriage for both.
Drew is best known as a stand up comedian, game show host, writer and now actor after his own show “The Drew and Carey Show”. His father died due to Brain tumor, when he was eight.
Due to poor academic performance he was expelled twice from Kent State University. After that he served for six years in United States Marine Corps reserve from 1980. During 1982, he worked as a bank teller and a waiter at Denny’s for a few months.
In 1985, he started stand-up comedy following suggestion of David Lawrence, a disc jocky, paying Drew to write jokes for his radio show in Cleveland. He won many stand -up comedy contests. In 1994, he won a CableACE Award for Best Writing, for his own stand up comedy special “Drew Carey: Human Cartoon”.
He started his TV career in 1994 with “The Good Life” and currently he is appearing in “The Price is Right” since 2007. He did voice over for movies “Coneheads” and “Robots” in 1993. His acting credits include documentary “Fuck” and movie “The Aristocrats” in 2005.
