Season 2
Author: admin‘The Drew Carey Show’ returned with second season on September 18, 1996 with the season opener entitled ‘We’ll Remember Always, Evaluation Day’. Second season introduced all those characters, whom we met in the first season, along with an addition to the star cast. In the second season, we meet Craig Ferguson as Nigel Wick and it also carries on the ongoing war between Drew Carey and his secretary Mimi Bombeck. Second episode was entitled ‘Something Wick This Way Comes’. In ‘Break It Up, Break It Up’, Lisa moves in Drew’s along with an assortment of pets. It creates mayhem in Drew Carey’s life and he even tries to avoid going home at night. Various other plot developments are: Mimi is asked by Mr. Wick to wear less make up and also conservative clothes; Kate starts dating Jack; Kate and Oswald confess that they slept together once during their high school; Drew meets Mimi’s family; a speeding car kills an employee in front of the store; After a hurricane struck Florida, Drew’s parents show up at his house; The gang decides to throw a party with a free beer when they realize that it’s not possible to make a profit from Buzz Beer; Drew Carey purchases a new car; Drew poses as a husband of a social worker; Earl is released from prison; Chris Vanderkamp tries to sell a new coffee flavored beer, Cap-Beer-Cino; Mr. Bradbury has completed forty years on the job so he’s forced to retire; Drew, Mimi and Larry want to replace him as the position holds lots of benefits; In ‘Win a Date With Kate’, Kate and Wick fall for each other and it amazes everyone.
Season comes to an end on May 14, 1997 and the ending episode of the season was entitled ‘New York and Queens’. In the end of the second season, Drew grows depressed when everyone starts calling him ‘Old Man Carey’ at the store. On their way to New York, the gang gets stuck in traffic jam and they also meet Donald Trump.

A speeding car kills an employee while she was trying to cross a busy intersection in front of the store. Dexter K. Roberts is brought in to replace her. Dexter embarrasses Drew in front the staff and he also throws a party. Everyone is invited excluding Drew and Mimi. Kate bleaches her hair in order to attract decent men but her idea fails to generate the desired results.
